Regular collaborator MaMan releases his sophomore album. I produced three of the tracks during my time in Sudan and completed mixing and mastering the album back in the UK.
Written and produced with Rotation during my time in Khartoum, No More is a response to the brutality experienced during the 2019 Sudanese Revolution.
In January 2019 I travelled to Khartoum, Sudan to work with Mahdi Ali Mahdi aka MaMan on new music and collaborate with Young JustUs artists TooDope, Rotation and Slizzy. As well as producing a swathe of music, we ran a week-long workshop for young producers, rappers and singers, based at the Capital Radio 91.6 FM studios. The selected participants all showed outstanding talent and the project aimed to nurture, mentor and further develop their skills in the fields of writing, performance, recording, production and mixing.
Our third album out now!
Championed by David Rodigan MBE, the first single from our upcoming album is getting regular radio play on BBC 1Xtra and Radio1. We’ve just had a video produced by US film-maker James Canty, premiered by Clash Magazine right here.
Created by Andy Sowerby, the video for Sun Fallen (Angel) was selected for the 2015 London Short Film Festival.
“A dance told through colour, light and water. An abstract representation of music and a pure expression of dynamic colour and shape. Layers of paint build in a rhythmical dance to the music, peaking in a complex climax of movement, texture and colour. This is abstraction-in-motion with the aim to create an emotional experience alongside the music.”
